New method for bearing assembly heating in equipment repairing
The most common replacement for bearings have two ways: one is to directly heat bearings with acetylene oxygen; another is to use oil heating for small bearings, when reaching thermal expansion, bearing bore has been expanded, thus to convenient for assembly. These methods have been widely used during long-term equipment maintenance, basicly meet and solve bearing assembly problems in equipment maintenance. However, these two methods are difficult to determine whether the heating temperature of heated area is uniform during the process of bearing heating. Because the traditional acetylene oxygen heating is single gas burner, and the heating process is just by experience, thus it is difficult to master the right heating degree for bearings. Higher temperature may produce annealing for bearings and reduce bearings’ mechanical properties; while temperature is too low, the value of thermal expansion is insufficient, so difficult to assemble. In equipment repairing, repairmen sometimes do not heat bearings enough, thereby bearings could not install the appropriate position, bearings should be re-installed under such condition, thus the labor intensity has increased. To this end, we propose a new method to change the traditional bearing assembly & heating.
1. Electric heating instead of acetylene oxygen heating
Make the plane electric furnace become cylindrical electric furnace, named for bearing electric heater, as shown in the following picture. Designing bearing electric heater with different power & specifications according to different bearing inner diameter (the best scope for bearing inner diameter φ300mm / above). This heating device has the following advantages: uniform heat radiation, stability, dust-free for heated bearing surface, tidy, clean, easy to measure and control bearing temperature.

2. Temperature monitoring for the surface of heated bearings by infrared thermometer
The heating value of bearing assembly is generally controlled at 100 ℃ ~ 120 ℃. Within this temperature, the thermal expansion value of bearing steel is max, easy for bearing assembly. At the same time, such temperature will not change bearings’ mechanical properties, meanwhile with high reliability.
In summary, bearing electric heater is superior to the traditional acetylene oxygen heating, which is the effective way to improve the accuracy of bearing assembly, working efficiency and reduce labor intensity.
